Our Mission - Springfield Supported Housing Program (SSHP) is a person-centered organization dedicated to providing safe, stable, and affordable housing solutions. We collaborate with community partners to address housing instability and support individuals and families in need.
Who We Serve- For over 16 years, SSHP has supported households experiencing homelessness or those at risk of losing their housing in the Springfield Agency of Human Services (AHS) District. Our service area includes 17 towns across Southern Windsor and Northern Windham Counties, such as Springfield, Bellows Falls, Chester, and Windsor.
Additionally, SSHP partners with local social service agencies to ensure long-term housing stability.
Our Team- Our dedicated team includes full-time and part-time specialists, including case managers, housing navigators, an operations director, a financial assistance director, prevention coordinator, family supported housing case manager, and a landlord liaison. Each case manager typically supports 15- 20 households at a time.
Breaking Down Barriers- We recognize the challenges individuals face and work to remove barriers such as transportation, internet access, and limited resources. To make services more accessible, we co-locate at Parks Place, HCRS, and the Department for Children and Families, and are willing to co- locate where the need is.
Coordinated Entry & Long-Term Support- As the lead agency for Continuum of Care Coordinated Entry Assessments, SSHP connects individuals with resources that fit their needs. This process helps clients access housing applications, benefits, and referrals to partner agencies. Depending on the situation, support can range from a one-time referral to up to two years of case management assistance.
At SSHP, we are committed to helping individuals and families achieve housing stability and long-term success through compassionate, personalized support.
